Local Penrith business ARCS Building Group and their clients have made a big difference to the lives of children at the Ronal McDonald House Westmead this Christmas. Instead of splurging on bottles of wine and gift baskets for their clients, they donated their $18,500 Christmas corporate gift budget to a worthy cause. Marketing Manager of ARCS Skye Grueff said that many charities need the money this Christmas.

"The last two years we have donated money to the Westmead Children's Hospital but this year after conversations with Ian and Raylene of McDonalds Penrith, we decided to visit the house and make our donation to the Ronald McDonald House, to see first hand how our donation will make a difference to the lives of others," she said.

"We were emotionally touched with the efforts of the volunteers and to hear their stories of the children who battle sickness.

"The key are that touched us is that the families can stay with their children in self contained bedrooms in a home away from home environment while the children are undergoing treatment at Westmead Hospital.

"This is a day we will always remember and the ACS Building Group team are looking forward to hosting a dinner for the families at Ronald McDonald House in the new year."
