The three-part series sees the couples in The Block challenge the team from rival Changing Rooms. Both teams have $50,000 to start with and everything donated to them or they save is given to the Children's Cancer Foundation at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Mr Grueff and his team of eight men spent three days fitting out, assembling furniture, moving bed bunks, fitting bathroom amenities and other little things associated with renovating and fitting out a house. In labour costs alone, Mr Grueff said his donation of eight men across three days would have normally coast $5000. He became aware of the show after Adam from The Block told him about the program. The pair had know each other previously after going head-to-head on a radio competition and Mr Grueff decided to go for it. "I've had a lot of support from people saying 'good on you Phil for donating your time to charity'," he said. | ![]() |
